Don J.J. Cordell is a graduate of Boston College Law School and a magna cum laude graduate of Boston College. His practice is primarily concentrated in the areas of estate and related tax and asset protection planning; trust and estate administration; corporate law with particular emphasis in the representation of closely held and family businesses; and domestic and international trademarks. He also specializes in long-term-care planning, estate planning for disabled persons, guardianships and conservatorships, and other elder law matters. In conjunction with his estate planning practice, Mr. Cordell has successfully represented estate planning clients before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Mr. Cordell is an active member of the Probate Law Section of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Trusts & Estates Section of the Boston Bar Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. He is a frequent speaker in his areas of expertise for a variety of professional groups and serves as guardian ad litem by appointment of the Massachusetts Probate Courts. Mr. Cordell, a past recipient of the John D. O'Reilly Jr. Award from Boston College Law School, is an active member of the Shaw Society Steering Committee for Boston College.
